Full Report – Implementing the CARICOM “Regional Framework for Achieving Development Resilient to Climate Change
CARICOM member states are worried by the imminent effect of climate change on their fragile environment. These countries have determined that mitigation and adaptation strategies are essential to address climate change in the region. The countries declared the following:
• Long term stabilization of atmospheric greenhouse gases to constrain the average surface global temperature to about 1.5oC
• The promotion of adaptation and capacity building initiatives within the Caribbean SIDS context.
• Financial support extended to SIDS to increase the region’s capacities in Climate Change.
