...the Government of Anguilla recognised that the future development of the tourism sector must be put on a sound footing. A Sustainable Tourism Master Plan was required to: ‘provide the policy framework for development, management, monitoring and long term sustainability of the tourism sector for the ten year period’...Extensive consultations were held with stakeholders directly and indirectly associated with the tourism sector in Anguilla. Four fieldwork missions were undertaken during which product inspection trips were undertaken to all areas in Anguilla involving visits to nature sites, touristic attractions and resorts in these areas.
